A Musician's Mission
With years of experience as a professional musician, composer, and music educator, I’ve spent my career exploring the intersection of technical mastery and emotional depth. From managing bands to leading music departments, my focus has always been on the "human element" that makes a performance feel alive.
Why I Created "Rhythm of the Heart"
I developed this course specifically for adults who want to move beyond the basics. I believe that advanced concepts—like lush 9th chords, modal scales, and syncopated grooves—shouldn’t be gatekept by complex software. By using the tools you already own, like GarageBand on your iPad or iPhone, we can focus on what truly matters: the music.
My Philosophy
Music is more than just hitting the right notes on a grid; it’s about pulse, heart, and expression. My goal is to help you take digital tools and "humanize" them, ensuring your creative work is always handled by the hands of an artist.
"Music is a language of the heart. My goal is to give you the tools to speak it fluently—using the technology in your pocket to create art that feels human, soulful, and entirely your own."

"Not at all. As long as your device can run the latest version of GarageBand, you have everything you need to master these concepts."

In the context of Rhythm of the Heart, "Adult" isn't just about an age bracket—it's about a learning style and a lifestyle context.
When you are marketing this course, you are defining your criteria based on three main pillars:
1. Intellectual Maturity
Instead of "color by numbers" or simple nursery rhymes, you are teaching 9ths, 13ths, and Modal Theory.
• The Criteria: A learner who is ready for "The Why" behind the music. They want to understand the emotional weight of a 6/9 chord and the cultural history of syncopation, not just which button to press.
2. Time & Responsibilities
Adults have jobs, families, and limited "hobby" time.
• The Criteria: Someone who needs a flexible, mobile-first workflow. By focusing on the iPhone and iPad, you are catering to the person who wants to practice during a lunch break or late at night after the house is quiet, rather than someone who can sit in a practice room for 8 hours a day.
3. Purpose-Driven Learning
Children often learn music because their parents signed them up. Adults learn because they have a personal creative itch to scratch.
• The Criteria: A "self-starter" who wants to express their own story. They are looking to "humanize" their sound because they value authenticity and want their digital art to reflect their own "hands."
